Buckingham Palace has shocked the world after it was revealed that a photo of the estranged Duke and Duchess of Sussex will feature in the monarch’s official coronation program on May 6. Prince Harry and his wife have made no secret of their dispute with the company. Meghan has even decided to skip next month’s historic ceremony, which some say could be the final nail in the royal family’s coffin.
Body language expert Judy James said the use of the photo raised Meghan’s status, perhaps even on purpose.
“Kate scores low on body language here. Posing from the side, she seems stripped of her current status as the company’s top star. That’s where Megan gets the attention – she looks confident as she shares a happy moment with Camilla and Charlotte,” the insider explained.
James noted that the picture painted a picture of the royal family as a “close-knit group”, leading to Charles engaging in “historical retouching” or even hinting that the Sussexes could return. It’s not just royal wives who have changed their reputations through the use of photography. Struggling brothers Harry and William also looked relaxed and connected.
“Of course the two brothers are here in a very tight pose, as if any separation was a figment of our imagination. They’re smiling big, they’re standing next to each other like twins, and they’re so close that their hands are touching,” Judy said.
Harry is expected to make a brief visit to the UK to attend the ceremony, while Meghan will stay at home in Montecito. The Sussexes received an official invitation to the coronation earlier this year, but have taken their time deciding whether to attend the event. The royal family will be cautious as tensions between the Sussexes and the rest of the firm hit an all-time high following the publication of the Duke’s memoirs earlier this year, reports the Mirror.
