Garner will star in the upcoming series, which premiered today, April 14, on the Apple TV+ streaming platform. It is noteworthy that initially the heroine was supposed to play Julia Roberts, but at the last minute the producers decided in favor of Ben Affleck’s ex-wife.

Also on the red carpet was Reese Witherspoon, who took on the role of executive producer of the series. The Legally Blonde showed off her svelte figure in a one-shoulder black mini dress. She completed her look with stylish black pumps.

The thriller is based on Laura Dave’s bestseller of the same name. Jennifer admitted that Hannah really wanted to get this role. “I went after everything. And I stayed up all night writing letters, like I was watching the sunrise all night, just writing and rewriting letters and sending them. And then, the next night, I did it again,” Garner said.

In the story, her heroine develops a strange relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter while searching for the truth about why her husband mysteriously disappeared. The actress’ fictional wife is played by Game of Thrones actor Nikolai Coster-Waldau, and her teenage stepdaughter is played by Anguri Rice in the project, Daily Mail reports.

“This is the story of the relationship between two women: a girl who does not know motherly love and a woman who does not know how to be a mother. They start out as rivals and their lives are completely destroyed. When the stakes can’t get any higher, they realize they have to start working together as a team whether they like it or not,” added Jennifer.
