Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Project for Security and Combating Corruption, appealed to Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov with a request to recognize the famous Soviet and Russian actress as a foreign agent. “Lija Akhedzhakova, who recently lost her job at the Sovremennik Theater for her pro-Ukrainian statements and actions, while living in Russia, constantly gives interviews to Ukrainian TV channels,” Borodin said.
The activist also demanded that three criminal proceedings be opened against the Office Romance star under the article of treason, among others. “We ask you to instruct the authorized authorities to conduct an audit and bring Liya Medzhidovna Akhedzhakova to criminal responsibility for the commission of crimes under Articles 275 (“High Treason”), 280.3 (“Public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the armed forces of the Russian Federation”) and 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Incitement to hatred or enmity”),” the call states.
Borodin also called on the Prosecutor General’s Office to strip Akhedzhak of her honors and honorary titles after her resounding statements about Russian politics.
Liya Medzhidovna lost her job in February due to the fact that the director of Sovremennik removed all performances with her participation from the repertoire. Oleg Basilashvili, Maria Mironova and other famous actors spoke in defense of the Achezhaks.
The 84-year-old artist assured that she is not going to leave Russia because she loves her. “I know that there is another slander against me at the public prosecutor’s office: some supporters are demanding that I be recognized as a foreign agent. A number of people continue to report on me in various cases. So my lawyer told me to tape my mouth shut. I was accused of the most terrible and serious crime that can be charged today – supporting the Ukrainian army. This is high treason, up to 20 years in prison,” Achedžakova said.
Earlier, Vitaly Borodin opposed Alla Pugacheva on the broadcast of the federal television channel. The activist said the pop star, who left for Israel, “works for Western intelligence agencies.”
