How the stars of the cult trilogy “Back to the Future” have changed 30 years later.

At the age of 24, Michael J Fox played 17-year-old high school student Marty McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy. At the end of the last film, the difference between the real age of the actor and his character exceeded ten years! At the time of the premiere of the third part, J. Fox was 29 years old, he was already married to actress Tracy Pollan and raised a son (the couple had four children in total). And then, in 1991, doctors discovered that Michael had Parkinson’s disease. Usually this disease affects people over 60 years old, but it overtook Michael in his youth. The disease is still incurable, progresses slowly, but can be stabilized with medication. Over time, the patient’s movements slow down, there is a “blurring” of speech, a “frozen look”, the balance is disturbed, there is pain when walking, insomnia and chronic depression.

“How would you describe my illness? – Ironic Michael. “Imagine a four-year-old child constantly trying to climb on top of you. It hangs on your hands, on your legs, climbs on your shoulders. And no matter what you do, it continues to make these attempts. And you have to be careful, try to concentrate on what you’re doing.’

From the second half of the 90s, Michael practically stopped acting in films, but continued to appear in TV series (Spin City, Clinic, The Good Wife) and engaged in dubbing. Michael’s last major film role was Mars Attacks in 1996, he also appeared in Route 60: Road Stories.

The actor of the role of the brilliant and strange professor Emmett Brown, after the completion of the fantastic trilogy, continued to be active: films with his participation were released every year – and are released. But still, the actor’s best hour was working in the Zemeckis project. In the comedy A Million Ways to Lose Your Head, Christopher Lloyd went back in time for a few minutes and once again played his doctor hero, who ended up in the reality of another story in the Wild West.

Leah began her acting career and left professional ballet in her 20s. At first, the artist starred in fast food commercials and music videos, but was lucky to get into Back to the Future, where she played the mother of her peer Michael J. Fox. By the way, Leah’s daughter Zoey Deutch is also a successful actress.

Glover was even younger than his scripted wife and son, but at the same time quite a popular actor. For example, Glover starred in the drama Riverside with Keanu Reeves.

After completing the trilogy, the actor mainly devotes himself to episodic work, also writes fiction books, music and collects mystical objects – the actor owns a semi-abandoned estate in Prague from the 17th century.

Good-natured Wilson himself once endured humiliation from school bullies, so he portrayed his hero as the most unpleasant type. In 2000, the actor began to appear less often, and a new hobby appeared in his life: Wilson began to sing in the church choir! Another talent of the artist is photography and painting, his works are often exhibited.

Unfortunately, the actress who played the main character’s girl only took part in the first part of the trilogy – drug addiction prevented her from appearing in the next two films. The girl failed to resume her acting career and found herself in business. Claudia owns a fashion retailer in Los Angeles.

Shu played Marty’s girlfriend in two parts of the trilogy. The actress didn’t have much experience filming in feature films at the time, but for her role in the iconic 1980s film Karate Kid, Elizabeth received a Young Actor Award. Shu became quite popular in the States, but the actress failed to achieve worldwide fame.
