The explosion in the cafe Street food bar on the Universitetskaya embankment in St. Petersburg thundered today, April 2, when the institution organized a creative evening for the military commissar Vladlen Tatarsky (real name Maxim Fomin). An eyewitness to the attack told what happened before the explosion. Law enforcement authorities are investigating whether the girl who handed over the figurine to Tatarsky was involved in the explosion. It was probably rigged with an improvised explosive device that was activated remotely.
As it turned out, the girl who handed over the statuette to military commander Vladlen Tatarsky is in one of St. Petersburg’s hospitals. Her condition is moderate, she is in the shock ward. Her identity has not yet been established due to a lack of documents.
Maxim Fomin was born in 1982 in the city of Makeevka in the Donetsk region. In 1999, he got a job in a mine and went into business. A man has been sentenced to prison after an armed bank robbery. In 2014, after the shelling of the colony in Gorlovka, where he was, Maxim joined the militias of the DPR.
In 2019, he launched his Telegram channel. He called it “Vladlen Tatarsky”, in honor of the main character of Viktor Pelevin’s novel “Generation “P.” In 2020, he moved to Moscow, where he wrote several books: “Running”, “War” and “Meditation”.
After the start of a special operation in Ukraine, he returned to Donbas and joined the Vostok battalion. At the same time, Fomin continued to maintain a Telegram channel, where he reported news from the war zone.
