The performer of the hit “Vernissage” did not support the special operation in Ukraine last year and left Russia. For this, Lyme, like other artists with the same position, is criticized by many. The singer recorded a video message in which she responded to the accusations.

According to the Latvian folk artist, she is vilified because she speaks Russian. “They write to me a lot: “Laim, why do you speak Russian? Speak Latvian! Russia has forgotten you!” And they are all grammatical errors! Once a person writes praise, he writes cleanly and beautifully. Those who write such disgusting things are uneducated people! They have no sense, no education!” said Vaikule.

The singer now lives in Latvia, and users often write her comments along the lines of: “Here, sit in your Riga!” Lyme said that it is a wonderful city and there is no place for whores. “Here it is! This is a great place: the best weather, the best people, decent people, they will never be rude. I can’t invite you to my place, you talk badly, but we don’t accept such people. Hello!” – said the native of the city of Cesis in a video on her YouTube channel.

The artist also said that at the end of July she will organize her own festival “Laima. Jurmala. Rendezvous.” According to the pop star, she tried to organize this event for three years, but postponed it due to the pandemic and dramatic events in the world. “You will be able to listen to new songs, because besides me, there will be many different amazing singers at the festival who can sing live Vaikule added.

Before that, Laima loudly declared that she supported the whole of the Soviet Union, and Alla Pugacheva supported the whole of Russia. The performer of the hit “A Million Scarlet Roses” now also lives abroad – in Israel. The artists maintain a close relationship and try to see each other as soon as possible.

Recently, the singer told how she was able to defeat oncology. Vaikule admitted that she could hardly tolerate the chemotherapy, but she consoled herself with the thought that it would bring a positive result.
