The treating doctors of Roman Kostomarov reported positive dynamics of his condition. The Olympic champion is conscious. Doctors managed to stop the spread of necrosis. The participant of the program “Ice Age” restores the usual functions of the body. He is learning to eat by himself. The athlete is also trying to sit, but so far he can only do it with the help of his wife or a nurse.

Doctors prepare the patient for prosthetics. At the same time, rehabilitation specialist and neurologist Alexander Komarov explained that this will only happen after the body is stabilized and the limbs are blood-stained. According to him, prosthetics is now complicated by systemic capillary toxicosis.

“Prosthetics will not be organized now, but a little later,” noted the specialist. – It will be multi-component. To create a stump properly, you need good circulation and good valve placement, and that can only be achieved with good blood flow.”

Maxim Korolev, head of the sports traumatology department of the International Health Center, assured that the former partner of Tatyana Navka will be able to go on the ice. According to the expert, modern technologies allow patients to play hockey with a bionic leg.

In connection with the spread of necrosis, doctors performed several operations on Kostomarov. First they amputated the soles of both legs, then the hands. Maxim added that Roman can be equipped with bionic prosthetic hands. The cost of such products reaches several million rubles.
