“Russia has always been my home, I have no other passport”: Dina Korzun explained why she left Switzerland 23.03.2023, 11:05

The star of the film “Land of the Deaf” is married to the Belgian composer Louis Franck, who became her third husband. At first, the lovers built a long-distance relationship, and then settled in Great Britain, where the artist got a job at the Royal Theater in London.

According to Dina, she always wanted to leave England. In 2018, the movie star seriously thought about it, and her husband suggested Switzerland, since he is a citizen of this country.

“We spent three years there. If it wasn’t for covid, we would be living like this – I was planning a production in Lausanne. But in the spring of 2021, at the family council, we decided to move to Russia, because there was less pressure and better respect for human rights in the pandemic. In Moscow, we celebrated my birthday with friends, and in the summer we already understood that our children will go to a Russian school. Not in English,” Korzun said.

The couple has two children together – daughters Itala and Sofia. The actress helped them learn Russian, which is not their native language. The girls had a hard time at school, doing homework with their parents.

Dina noted that in the 20 years of her relationship with Louis, she had the option of obtaining an English or Swiss passport, but never had such a goal.

“Russia has always been my home, I have no passport and citizenship other than Russian. What was a problem for my husband: I had to constantly collect documents for visas, permits to stay in the country, “said Korzun in an interview with TASS.

The actress of the series “Son”, while still living abroad, flew to Russia to visit her relatives. She noticed that Moscow became cleaner and more beautiful, many cafes and restaurants appeared.

Earlier, Korzun opened up about what it’s like to be a Russian woman married to a foreigner. She admitted that it took her a long time to get used to the relatives of her chosen one. Dina was especially surprised by the tradition of sending pictures of newborns to loved ones.
