1. Marilyn Monroe’s real hair color is dark brown. Bosses at the film studio advised her to change it. According to them, the actress turned into a platinum blonde and became much more interesting and striking.

2. Due to health problems, all of Marilyn Monroe’s pregnancies ended sadly, one of them was even ectopic. This left an imprint on the woman’s mental state and greatly affected her self-esteem.

3. Despite the image of a cheerful and thoughtful blonde on the screen, Marilyn Monroe’s IQ was equal to 168 points. She loved to read and even collected her own large library, in which there was a place for such authors as Leo Tolstoy, Sigmund Freud, Albert Camus, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, etc.

4. The actress was adept at cooking and never missed an opportunity to cook something delicious for her friends and colleagues.

5. Monroe was very fond of pets, her favorite being the terrier Maf, which was shown to her by the American singer Frank Sinatra.

6. Marilyn founded her own film company, Marylin Monroe Productions, in the 1950s. She became the first female film producer, but managed to release only one film.

7. Monroe was invited to be the face of the first cover of the erotic magazine Playboy – the issue with the actress was published in 1947.

8. It was difficult for her to act in films due to problems with memorizing the text. Sometimes the same scene had to be reshot up to 20 times.

9. The actress was credited with an affair with US President John F. Kennedy. It was to him that she sang the famous song Happy birthday, Mr.President from the stage.
