The 46-year-old athlete has been in intensive care in the main Kommunarka for the third month. The skater’s health has changed – he no longer needs a ventilator.

“He was disconnected from the ventilator, he has been talking for two days,” explained StarHit’s source at the hospital.

However, Kostomarov has recently lost a lot of weight. The former partner of Taťana Navka now weighs only 50 kg with a height of 182 cm.

Roman was not well at the beginning of January. After that, however, he did not want to disappoint his partners in the play Ilya Averbukh “The Wizard of Oz”. Since the body can cope with a cold, Kostomarov went to the Luzhniki ice arena. Julia Nachalová’s father assured that it was the athlete’s fault. Victor expressed the opinion that the skater fell into the same trap as the singer. Sometimes a seemingly minor ailment can turn into a serious illness, the composer and producer warned.

Kostomarov was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of bilateral pneumonia. He underwent two operations – his legs and several fingers were amputated. Due to the sepsis, the surgeons plan another operation to amputate part of the arm, but they fear that the patient’s heart may stop due to severe weakness. Andrey Zvonkov, former doctor of the Russian national team in ski jumping and Nordic combined, spoke about the main danger for Roman.

However, Ilya Averbukh reported a slight improvement in the Ice Age star’s condition last week. The choreographer noted that a lot of tests fell on Oksana Domnina’s shoulders. The producer is in constant contact with Roman’s wife.
