The Olympic champion took part in Averbukh’s show “The Wizard of Oz” on New Year’s holidays. Kostomarov did not feel well and did not interrupt work – he continued to ride on the ice so as not to disappoint his partners. When the athlete became very ill on the night of January 10, his wife Oksana Domnina called an ambulance.

Roman was admitted to the hospital with bilateral pneumonia. The skater suffered two strokes, has serious problems with his lungs, liver and kidneys. Surgeons performed two operations – amputated the patient’s legs and several fingers. Domnina admitted that even in a nightmare she could not imagine what would happen to her husband. The 2010 Olympic bronze medalist also asked journalists to stop calling her, relatives, acquaintances and friends.

Ilya Averbukh noted that many representatives of the press and bloggers heard Oksana’s request. At the same time, the “Ice Age” choreographer pointed out that some yellow publications publish unverified information about the condition of Taťana Navka’s ex-partner.

“The situation is very difficult now,” Averbukh admitted. – The Roma are dealing with a serious illness and there is no need to escalate passions by publishing 90% fabricated information. Apart from doctors, parents, Oksana and partly me, no one has accurate information. Only Domnina communicates with the doctors, who herself decides what she will share.”

Ilja started the Ice Age Stars Tour, which will run throughout the spring and will take place in 25 cities. The director of the program said that due to Kostomarov’s serious illness, he canceled his appearance in Moscow. At each performance, the audience leaves messages in special boxes that they pass on to Roman. Lisa Arzamasova’s husband hopes to improve the well-being of his friend.
