“Gibson said I was old!”: Sharon Stone and her battle for the best roles in Stars

Sharon cannot be called modest and peaceful. Stone was repeatedly accused of slowing down the filming process and the behavior of the “diva” on the set. She also participated in the suspension of some colleagues from the filming.

For example, in 1992 she starred in the film Basic Instinct, which was included in the list of the best Hollywood films of all time. And in 2001, she filed a $100 million lawsuit against the producers of the future sequel. Why? She accused them of not paying the 14 million fee promised to make a sequel – regardless of whether there will be one at all!

In the text of the lawsuit, the actress stated that she is fully prepared for the shooting and canceled all other offers in order to fully concentrate on this film. The producers responded that there was no contract and that Stone herself had refused to act with Benjamin Bratt as her on-screen partner.

“She didn’t think he was a good enough actor,” they explained. “Like, she looks too young for her background. Moreover, they said that the 43-year-old actress is too old for such an honest role, since the first film was shot almost 10 years ago.

Everything finally ended with the filming of the second part, which turned out almost as well as the first.

In 2014, the actress starred in the Italian film Golden Boy, whose director was not satisfied with her behavior. He said the star’s cost exceeded the film’s modest budget. In particular, Stone demanded payment for an expensive hotel room where she was constantly besieged by paparazzi.

The most unpleasant thing happened on the last day of filming. Needing to kiss actor Ricardo Scamarchio, she noticed a crowd of photographers and cameramen outside the set. She began to play her role only after the outsiders were expelled. Nevertheless, the director did not refuse to work with Stone again, and her manager denied all the allegations.

In 2018, Sharon Stone admitted that after her 2001 hit, Hollywood considered her a spoiled brat: “Of course, I look like a real curiosity and I don’t want to tell anyone the details of what happened… I’m glad to have another chance .”

A little later, Sharon nevertheless told some details about her health and life after the bleeding: “I lost my marriage, custody of the child (she and Phil Bronstein adopted the boy Roen in 2000. – Approx. ed.), my place in the film business, all the money , because you had to pay for different things… I know what it’s like to be in a situation where you are at the top of the pyramid in your business and then everything collapses overnight. And a lot of that happened just because no one could look at me and understand that I had a brain bleed.

And now, in his 60s, he plays the roles of younger characters perfectly. In the comedy “All I Want” she was supposed to play the main character’s mother, but she refused this role in favor of the heroine herself. And she did it!
