The main theme of this year’s festival was “Culture of Indigenous Peoples”. Films with ethnic specifics are supposed to show and prove that Russia is a multi-ethnic country. The participants were directors from 17 countries. Honored Artist of Russia Julia Peresild and actor Bogdan Kiyashko acted as hosts of the opening ceremony.

Many stars appeared on the red carpet, including Anna Mikhalkova, daughter of Lyubov Polishchuk with her father, Lyanka Gryu, Pavel Lungin and Sergey Garmash. The presenter opted for the classics: Yulia wore a black dress, gathered her hair into a high hairstyle and limited her make-up to a minimum of cosmetics.

Marietta Tsigal-Polishchuk made her debut at the festival accompanied by her father, artist Sergey Tsigal. The leading lady in the series “Ranevskaya” appeared in a bright scarlet tunic, emphasizing the importance of the moment.

Anna Mikhalková chose a strict oversized pantsuit that looked great on her figure. The actress seemed to make it clear that she did not fly here to have fun, but to work.

The president of the film festival, Emir Kusturica, could not attend the opening. Before leaving for Russia, the director broke his leg: he is still in the hospital, his leg is in a cast.
