A resident of the Tula region, where SHAMAN himself comes from, found hints of extremism in the lines of the song “I am Russian”. The man turned to the security forces with demands that they check the intervention. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs came to the place of registration of the artist in Tula.
The artist’s grandparents were in the apartment, who were shocked that the police were looking for their grandson. But since it is still a matter of verification due to a claim, the singer wrote an explanatory note remotely. SHAMAN explained his position in detail.
With the new program “I am Russian”, he is going to perform six separate concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg in March. “I received an unexpected gift for the premiere – the Department of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Tula Region turned to me with a request to clarify the fact of the statement of a certain citizen that, in his opinion, my song “I am Russian”, allegedly heard on radio and television, it is extremist and incites national strife in our country. I thank a stranger for such attention to my work, which found extremism in these lines, simple and full of love for the land where my ancestors lived, where I live and where I want my grandchildren to live,” said SHAMAN.
He believes that representatives of different nationalities living in Russia, as well as those who speak Russian, love his composition. The artist reminded that before it started to sound, the song had already passed all possible checks.
“It was the song “I’m Russian” that was played on Channel One’s national broadcast on New Year’s Eve – immediately after the ceremonial speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the traditional battle over the Kremlin chimes and our country’s anthem. I gave the explanation with my own hand, I wrote and sing this song because I am RUSSIAN, “summarized the performer.
