The duet “Circumstances” released the single “Mayak”. It’s a melancholic, guitar-driven, surf-rock ballad about difficult but important relationships: when the other person’s eyes turn into that beacon and the hero eventually “swims, runs, gets to it.” The tandem’s love of poetry seems to be maximized here: every line here somehow refers to images of water, rocky shores and sea winds.
“Circumstances” is a Cheboksary duo of Kostya Maksimov and Lenya Olivanov, formed in Chuvashia in the mid-1990s. In their music, the duo combines urban romance and the search for a “Zen feeling” in the often turbulent life of adults, in which it is very easy to lose the honest bright inner child. And the songs “Circumstance” are about rediscovering this honesty in yourself.
Last year, Circumstances released their first album in years, Losses, and a few weeks ago, the band released the music video for Two in a Full Moon.
The band will play a concert in Moscow on March 30 and in St. Petersburg on May 16.
