Prince William’s wife looked flawless as she accompanied him to the BAFTAs the day before. Kate chose a floor-length white asymmetrical dress by her favorite Alexander McQueen brand. She completed her look with black opera gloves and massive cascade earrings.

Stylists noted that the spectacular ensemble was planned to perfection – clothes, makeup, hair looked equally flawless. Make-up artist Laura Kay said the royal is wearing brighter make-up than usual. According to her, this was done deliberately, as this is Middleton’s first appearance at an award after receiving the new title of Princess of Wales.

“Kate’s team made sure she exuded old Hollywood glamor during one of the most glamorous nights in the British calendar. She looked more regal than ever. Her natural makeup shined, but I’m surprised she opted for such bold eye and brow makeup. She looks flawless, but we don’t usually see her dramatize both the outfit and makeup at the same time, so I think she’s definitely doing it strategically,” said Laura.

The make-up artist for the heir to the throne’s wife used several approaches to draw attention to the princess’s eyes. “Her smoky eye makeup really stands out and she used a few tricks to achieve the desired effect, including pencil or liquid liner to make her eyes appear wider. She applied a deep metallic ash shade to her lids and blended it with a soft brown around her eyes for an instantly sultry look. She also used eyeshadow to accentuate her cat eyes even more.

The princess’s eyebrows were thinner and darker than usual and took on a more arched shape. Her flawless complexion was achieved with a rose gold highlighter that complemented her earrings for a more youthful look.

“There was a soft glow around the browbones and cheekbones and she applied a liquid pink highlighter to her cheeks for a fresh and youthful look. Kate completes her look with a peachy pink lip gloss. She looks happy and confident,” the Daily Mail quoted the make-up artist as saying.

Hairstylist Tom Smith said the royal team made changes to her signature hairstyle. “Kate opted for her basic wavy hair which looks shinier than usual. She lifted her roots slightly to complement the evening outfit, giving it a sophisticated and glamorous look. Prince William’s wife also tucked her hair behind her ears and out of her face, which is strategic because it helps highlight her earrings and doesn’t smudge her makeup,” Smith said.

What’s more, Tom said Kate has picked up on the “sweet brunette” trend, following Hailey Bieber, Gigi Hadid and Margot Robbie, who have opted for darker, deeper hair tones. “Kate’s hair color is very similar to one of the most popular hair trends known as ‘sweet brunette’. This color helps give her tresses a glossy, healthy shine. The split also adds an element of symmetry that balances out the asymmetrical details of her dress,” added the beauty expert.
