Stars Beyonce, Kim Kardashian and other stars who had problems conceiving a child

IVF, miscarriages and other difficulties experienced by stars.

Alicia Vikander

Alicia and her husband Michael Fassbender became parents in 2021. The actress frankly admitted that it was not possible to conceive a child immediately, moreover, she suffered a miscarriage. Ironically, the actors actually repeated the fate of their characters – in 2016, Alicia and Michael starred together in the film The Light Between Oceans, where they played a couple who cannot have children under any circumstances.

Kim Kardashian

Kim had health problems after the birth of her first child, daughter North. She had placenta accreta and had to undergo several operations that made it difficult to conceive. Kim nevertheless decided to give birth to a second child, after which she had already undergone five operations. Doctors forbade the star to give birth again on her own, so a surrogate mother carried her two more children.

Mariah Carey

In 2011, the singer revealed that she had a miscarriage. As a result, she underwent fertility treatment to become pregnant. Thanks to this, Mariah became a mother: from Nick Cannon she has two twins, daughter Monroe and son Moroccan.

Brooke Shields

In 2005, Brooke was open about her attempts to conceive. She admitted that she “never thought that [у нее] there will be problems’, but she and her husband Chris Henchy have consistently failed to do so. As a result, two daughters were still born in their marriage. Brooke advised anyone facing similar issues to be open about their experiences and not be ashamed of their fertility issues.

Halsey

The singer admitted that she had three miscarriages before she was 24 years old.

“It seemed like a cruel irony that I could easily get pregnant, but it was impossible to maintain the pregnancy,” she said.

In 2021, she gave birth to a son, Ender.

beyonce

In the 2013 documentary Beyoncé: Life Is But a Dream, the singer revealed that she had a miscarriage before giving birth to her first child Blue Ivy with Jay-Z.

“It was one of the hardest times I had to go through,” Beyoncé admitted.

Ann Hathaway

In 2022, Ann, who has two children with Adam Shulman, said she couldn’t get pregnant right away, and talking to other people who had also experienced fertility issues helped her cope with her personal grief.

“There is a tendency to portray pregnancy and childbirth in a positive light, as if everything is easy and simple. But I know from my own experience… it’s much more complicated than that,” Ann said.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole revealed in 2011 that her attempts to conceive had been a rollercoaster. This led to her and her husband Keith Urban turning to a surrogate mother for their second child.

“Anyone who has ever wanted children knows the frustration, pain and loss you go through trying to get pregnant and struggling with fertility issues,” said Nicole.

Celine Dion

The birth of the Canadian singer’s children was not easy: she survived a miscarriage and was forced to resort to IVF.

In May 2000, Dion underwent two minor surgeries at a fertility clinic in New York City to improve her chances of conceiving before giving birth to her son. Celine also went through six IVF cycles before giving birth to twins in October 2010.

Courteney Cox

Her own difficult experience inspired the actress to create the documentary series 9 Months with Courteney Cox, in which various couples spoke candidly about their attempts to become parents.

“I’ve had a hard time. I’ve had a lot of miscarriages and I don’t think it’s something that people shouldn’t talk about because… it’s unfortunate, but it happens,” the Friends star said.

Courtney herself could finally become a mother – she and her ex-husband David Arquette have a daughter.

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissie has always been open about her health issues, including her rough experience with IVF.

“You hear stories that IVF works on the first try. But there are many more stories about when it takes more time. In our case, it didn’t work the first time and it was devastating,” Chrissy admitted.

Chrissy and John Legend’s two children, Luna and Miles, were conceived through IVF. Teigen suffered a miscarriage in 2020 and the couple welcomed their third child in January 2023.
