Kostomarov has been struggling with a serious illness for a month. Now the skater is in the intensive care unit in Kommunarka. His 38-year-old wife is always near him. Oksana Domnina categorically refuses to communicate with journalists. Her friend Svetlana Zhurova explained why this is happening.

“I understand that Oksana is obviously tired of gossip,” said the skater. – Everyone tries to find out some information, and then it turns out that it is not so at all. I understand that she was protecting everyone and not giving any information to anyone. In addition, it happens that people are completely honest – even doctors and acquaintances write to me and offer help. But surely the best work with him.”

The day before, Roman underwent an operation – both of his legs were amputated due to gangrene. The operation was demanding, it is aimed at removing necrosis and stopping the process of cell death. This was the only chance to save Kostomarov’s life.

Today, Domnina publicly addressed her husband – the skater congratulated him on his 46th birthday. She admitted that even in her wildest dreams she could not have imagined that all this would happen. At the same time, the ice star does not respond to numerous questions from the press.

“You see, Oksana categorically does not want to communicate with anyone, and she is doing the right thing. Journalists are already trying to get out despite me, and generally anyone and doctors are offered, but she will not succeed. I think Oksana understands that there is a catch here, “7 days,” Zhurova quotes.

Tatyana Tarasova suggested that she help the Olympic winner’s family with money. However, Domnina’s friend asked her not to “get in front of the train”. Zhurova emphasized that Oksana herself will decide when she will be ready to accept help.

Kostomarov is conscious after the operation. As it turned out, the decision to perform surgery on the athlete was made after consultations between Moscow doctors and specialists from Germany.
