Alexey Lukin: “Peacocks have character” Stars

In the series “Ivanov-Ivanov”, new episodes of which are released on February 6 on STS, whatever happened to your Vanya. What surprised you this time?

The very beginning of the season looked like an interesting move: Váňa comes from Moscow as a successful businessman. He supposedly has his own business there and everyone thinks he’s great. But in reality, Vanya has lost a lot and now he owes the bad guys. The whole season he is chased by two bandits and Váňa escapes from them. And every episode is like a way to survive. Plus a romantic line with Vasya. And it’s such a douchebag with a group of village gopniks on mopeds. In general, you won’t be bored, I promise. (Laughter.)

No tricks, right?

I somehow had to get on the horse, fall off and try to get back on it. At first they offered sub-study, but I decided to do everything myself. It’s funny, but it was harder in another scene where he was jumping over peacocks. They didn’t sit still, they constantly flew over the fences. In general, it turned out that birds have character. (Laughter.)

You used to play football. Have you ever dreamed of what would happen if you chose sports over cinema?

Every year I convince myself that I made the right choice. Now I’m doing what I love, and even the fatigue with a heavy schedule is a very pleasant fatigue. I understand that I enjoy it.

Now there are many online platforms where high quality serials are released. Are you browsing this stream as a viewer, watching the premieres?

When I have time, I watch something on Netflix. I’m a fan of Stranger Things. I generally like foreign series from an educational point of view, because I watch them with subtitles. In doing so, I kill two birds with one stone: I look at what is being discussed now, and I also learn the language. But I think our series went to another level. A lot of interesting things, everything is different, all I manage to hear from my colleagues is: “Look, how did it work!”. I’m happy about it and I’m proud that it’s happening. I notice it myself from the scripts: it’s beautifully written, original. So when there’s a break, I’ll definitely review all the new platforms, but of course I’ll start with my own. (Laughter.)

Isn’t it scary to look at yourself?

Bugs are always being worked on. Sometimes it is not very pleasant to look at myself in the shot, sometimes I understand that somewhere I could have done it better.

Tracking new items is rarely possible, but what about travel?

So far, everything is within Moscow and the Moscow region. (Smiles.) Thanks to the Ivanovs, I got to know Zvenigorod by the way, we spent a lot of time there. But to be honest, I didn’t get to see anything there, just the location of the Ivanovs. (Laughs.) In Sochi, I was also at the New Season film festival, where the major platforms presented their premieres.

Do you make plans or leave it alone?

My immediate goal is to work, work and work again. (Smiling.) Try to make sure that you can do your work with absolute quality with such a demanding schedule. Everything I have come up with that I really want to bring to life is important. And then I’ll think about other things. Well, if you manage to go somewhere to relax, great. (Smiling.)
