Why the Queen of the Netherlands went to prison in her youth – a lesson for life

Former Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands was quite a naughty child as a child and sometimes liked to misbehave. One day Beatrix and her sister Irene were coming home from school and decided to steal some fruit.

The police caught the thief and took him to the police station. When the incident was reported to the girls’ mother, for a moment, Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, she reacted unexpectedly. Instead of the proposed two hours, she advised police officers to keep their daughters at the police station for three hours as an educational measure.

Beatrix learned the lesson perfectly. There were no more crime stories in her life. She served her people faithfully for 33 years and abdicated on April 30, 2013 in favor of her son, Prince Willem-Alexander, who still rules the country today.
