‘We bought covid vaccines’: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reveal for the first time where they spent millions of dollars 30.01.2023, 16:30

The disgraced royalist couple launched their charity project after stepping down as royals and moving to the United States. The former American actress and British prince named the Archewell Foundation after their first child, son Archie.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reported on the work of an organization that many skeptics saw as nominal. Since its inception in 2020, the foundation has raised $13 million. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have already spent $3 million on selected causes. So, Meghan and Harry said in a statement that they helped pay for 12 million Covid-19 vaccinations worldwide while working with Global Citizen, a charity to help the poor.

Royal commentator Omid Scobie, who is a vocal supporter of the couple, said Archiwell donated 23 per cent of their earnings. “In their first year of operation, they raised $13 million and distributed $3 million in grants. Harry and Meghan say Archiwell, named after their eldest child, is also spending money to create a better online world,” Scobie said.

Former members of the royal family have donated to a foundation that has developed an online guide to promoting gender equality and combating harmful gender stereotypes. Meghan Markle herself has chosen several projects.

These include a training center in Antioch, Tennessee, which provides supplementary free education to children from poor families. The Duchess also provided funding to build a playground in Uvalda, where 19 children and 2 adults were killed in the Robbo Primary School shooting, according to the Daily Mail.

The report says the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have rescued 7,400 people from war-torn Afghanistan through a partnership with the Human First Coalition. In cooperation with World Central Kitchen, 50,000 hot meals were prepared for the disadvantaged at their expense.

The couple also helped fund 13 academics at the Harvard Institute on Social Media’s Most Pressing Social Issues. According to Meghan Markle and close associates of Prince Harry, this year the fund will focus on more than three main areas – creating a better online world, restoring trust in information and improving communities.
