This year marks the brand’s 30th anniversary: Victor Horsting and Rolf Snooren continue to question established prejudices in fashion and bridge the gap between fashion and art. This time, at a designer-led fashion show, they appeared on the catwalk in dresses that weren’t worn right – any way you look at it.
The spring collection turned into a discussed provocation. One of the models tried to see what was going on around her: it was difficult because of the blue tulle skirt that covered her face.
For one evening in Paris, it was like someone had turned off gravity. All the images seemed to be inspired by Uncle Fester from The Addams Family. The brand itself described the new collection as “a showcase of fabulous yet surreal creations”. The Dutch designers called this line “The Waltz of Late Stage Capitalism”. The flying, soaring dramatic dresses, inside out, inside out, are a sight to behold.
At the same time, minimalism reigned as an accessory on the catwalk: models moved in glittering silver corsets over tiered skirts, while the outfits themselves took on a life of their own.
Daria Klyukina shared her impressions of such an unusual show. “When you get up on the wrong foot and the day goes bad… Victor & Rolf couture collection and experiments in the game ‘Dress in 3 seconds,'” joked the winner of the show “Bachelor” with the participation of Yegor Creed.
