Elvis Presley’s granddaughter and her husband Ben Smith-Petersen became parents. The stuntman, who Riley has been married to since 2015, read his wife’s letter as he said goodbye to Lisa Marie at Graceland. During the speech, it was learned about replenishment in the star family.
“Thank you for showing me that love is the only thing that matters in this life. I hope I can love my daughter like you loved me, like you loved my brother and my sisters. Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity. I’m a piece of your heart, my sisters are a piece of your heart, my brother is a piece of your heart,” Riley wrote.
Hundreds of people gathered at the Graceland Lawn in Memphis, Tennessee to pay tribute to the only daughter of the King of Rock and Roll. Lisa Marie, a singer-songwriter who dedicated her life to her father’s legacy, died on January 12, hours after being hospitalized. She was 54 years old. Lisa Marie is survived by three daughters: Kyo, 14-year-old twins Finlay and Harper Lockwood. The singer was buried next to her beloved son Benjamin Keogh, who committed suicide in 2020.
Some mourners held flowers as they waited for the service to begin under the tall trees on the Graceland lawn. Lisa Marie lived in this house as a child with her father. The mansion she owned has been turned into a museum and tourist attraction, visited by hundreds of thousands of fans every year.
Benjamin’s grave had to be moved slightly to make room for his mother’s body, sources said. The two are now side by side in the Meditation Garden at Elvis’ iconic mansion. The King of Rock and Roll along with his parents Vernon and Gladys Presley are also buried here.
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the love, compassion and support you have shown our family during this difficult time. We will always be grateful,” the Presley family said in a letter read during the service. Among those who appeared at the ceremony were Priscilla Presley, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, Austin Butler, as well as singers Billy Corgan, Alanis Morissette and Axl Rose, according to Fox News.
