The stars remember filming as a nightmare: what was the fate of the actors of the series “Alf”

At first, few people believed in the series about an alien creature named Alf, but everything was decided by the humor for which the audience fell in love with this project. Alf became a real star – along with his on-screen household. Do you want to know how their life developed?

Max Wright was a serious dramatic actor and played a lot on Broadway, while he became famous for his most popular role – the birth of Willie Tanner. It bothered the man that he turned into a clown who talks to a doll, and the same doll is many times more popular than him. The situation was made more difficult by the very difficult filming: a 25-minute episode was filmed for about 30 hours due to technical difficulties.

Paul Fusco recalled that when the last scene of the last episode of season 4 was being filmed, Wright quietly went to the dressing room, packed his things and left without saying goodbye. There was no last party: everyone broke up with Alf without regret. Years later, Max cooled down and noted in his interviews that he is still glad that this project brings a lot of joy to the audience.

Unfortunately, Wright is no longer alive: he was diagnosed with cancer in 1995, and after many years of fighting, oncology took over in 2019 and the actor died.

Ann, who played Kate Tanner, called filming Alpha the hardest job of her career. She also spoke kindly of colleagues, although she noted that there were awkward moments (for example, when Max Wright yelled at little Benji Gregory for forgetting the words).

At the beginning of filming in Alfa, Shedin was a fairly popular actress who played a lot, but after the sitcom she practically disappeared from the screens. Today, Ann is dedicated to charity.

For Andrea, filming in the TV series Alfa was both the best and the worst at the same time. At the start of the project, she was only 17 years old and “skinny as a reed”. In the second season, Elson, played by Lynn Tanner, began to transform into a woman and gain weight accordingly. The girl dreamed that the viewer would fall in love with her, and she began to rapidly lose weight and develop bulimia. Andrea was saved by her husband, whom she met on set. Subsequently, the couple became parents, Elson starred in the series for the last time, after which she left the cinema in 1998. Today, he bills himself as a “traveling yoga instructor.”

Benji, who played Brian Tanner, was only 8 years old when filming began. For the boy’s fragile psyche, what happened on the set was a big shock, despite the fact that it was not his debut. For 4 seasons he was terribly exhausted, so he decided to quit acting.

After the series, Gregory voiced a few cartoons and disappeared from the radar. Benji is known to have served on an aircraft carrier for two years before quitting due to health issues. It is said that now, after years, Gregory has decided to return to the world of cinema, but already as a director.
