Queen of Hearts: 5 Generous and Touching Things Princess Diana Did to Stars

The death of Princess Diana was a tragedy for millions of people. During her life, the Queen of Hearts fought for justice and helped everyone who needed her.

“I have always been, am and always will be a humanitarian figure, I just want to help people as much as I can, that’s all… The world is becoming more and more sick with a lack of philanthropy and compassion…” Lady Dee said. We recall her most important actions, which the whole world talked about.

1. She took off her gloves and shook hands with AIDS patients.

In the 1980s, the number of AIDS patients was growing rapidly and almost nothing was known about the disease. After that, many mistakenly believed that AIDS was transmitted by touch, so the infected became outcasts.

In the spring of 1987, the first AIDS unit opened in the UK. Prince Charles refused to attend the ceremony, but Diana did not. In addition, she not only attended the event, but also spoke to the patients and greeted them with a confident handshake. Lady Dee thus disproved the myth of AIDS being contagious by touch.

“Diana, in our opinion, has done more to help people with HIV than anyone else, and no one has done anything like it yet,” said Gavin Hart, founder of the National AIDS Trust, National AIDS Trust.

2. He passed through a cleared field

In 1997, shortly before her death, Princess Diana flew to Angola, where hostilities were in full swing and the country was strewn with landmines. People – men, women, children – were walking around the city with amputated limbs. Afterwards, Princess Diana, wearing a HALO-TRUST bulletproof vest and a bulletproof mask, walked through a pre-cleared field – to protest the use of weapons. Despite the fact that the field no longer posed a threat, Lady Dee admitted her jaw clenched in fear.

3. She helped the homeless and taught it to her sons

In 1992, Princess Diana became a trustee of Centerpoint, a center for the homeless in London. Lady Dee often took her sons with her so they could see the other side of life.

“In a hospital or among crippled people, the former problems are completely forgotten, they seem so small, pathetic. Strangely, among the squalid huts, the miserable life, the concerns of our well-off, well-fed, and unmined world seem miserable. We simply do not imagine their life, just as they do not believe in the possibility of ours, “said the princess.

4. He handed over equipment to a children’s hospital in Moscow

In June 1995, Princess Diana flew to Moscow, her first and only visit to Russia. On the first day, Lady Dee met with government officials and visited the Grand Theatre, and the next day she went to Tushino Children’s Hospital. Then the princess’s fund donated good equipment to a Moscow hospital.

Then Lady Dee went to the trauma ward where there were children with very serious injuries and where the other would be scared, the princess couldn’t do it, she calmly walked through the wards. “How I wanted to hold every sick child in my arms, caress them all, make them laugh, so that at least for a moment a smile appeared in their eyes instead of pain!” recalled Princess Diana.

5. Regularly visited children with cancer in the hospital

Princess Diana was patron of the Royal Brompton Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Needless to say, she loved children. She realized that children with cancer needed attention more than anyone else, so she visited them three times a week and spent 3-4 hours with them. “Some of them will live, some of them will die, but all of them should get love here and now. I try to give them that love,” said Lady Dee.

“I couldn’t get past a single patient. Not all departments let me in, only doctors and nurses go in somewhere, but if possible I went in and left the assistants toiling in the corridors. I encouraged, shook hands, tried to instill hope… I could only help them with my sympathy, and if it helped, I was ready to give it my all, “the princess shared.
