It happens that you watch the film and understand what a brilliant job the casting director did – all the actors got so used to the role and you can’t imagine anyone else in their place. But sometimes it is very interesting to find out which of the candidates applied for a particular role!
So one day we came across an interesting fact about the movie The Wolf of Wall Street. If you have suddenly not seen this film (and we recommend that you correct this misunderstanding immediately!), then we will tell you the main point: according to the plot, Leonardo DiCaprio’s hero meets a girl named Naomi Lapaglia, played by 22-year-old Margot Robbie.
Interestingly enough, she originally applied for the role… ta-dam! Olivia Wilde. In one of the interviews, the actress said that she was rejected for the role, explaining that she was “too refined”. “That sounds good,” I thought. But later it turned out they actually meant “old,” Olivia admitted.
The fact is also surprising because at the time of filming she was only 28 years old! However, these tests did not end in complete failure for Wilde: the director of the film Martin Scorsese invited her to his next project – the Vinyl series.
