This actress refused to play Rose in Titanic and now everyone has forgotten about her

Rosa DeWitt Bukater from Titanic was played by Kate Winslet. The role made the 22-year-old actress a Hollywood star overnight and also brought her worldwide fame and even an Oscar nomination.

Few people know that Kate got into the project only thanks to the departure of another actress from it. Claire Danes was originally cast as Rose DeWitt Bukater. However, the artist refused to act, explaining that she is damn tired of monotonous projects and basically her resources are at the limit.

The actress also did not want to play with Leonardo DiCaprio again – shortly before the start of filming “Titanic”, the artists appeared together in the film “Romeo + Juliet”.

If we compare Kate’s and Claire’s achievements, the former is of course much more significant. The Danes continued to act all these years, but one of the brightest was the work of the actress in the TV series Homeland. It lasted almost ten years and ended in the spring of 2020.

Claire is also removed throughout the subway, but these films do not bring rave reviews or awards. And everything, but it was necessary earlier!
