From dishwasher to movie star: how the “Dragon House” star survived for future fame

Dragon House is the most talked about series of 2022. We have no doubt that it will win the hearts of millions of new fans in the coming years. And it will allow the actors who played the main roles to have a brilliant career.

22-year-old Millie Alcock played the role of young Reynyra Targaryen in The House of the Dragon. The Australian previously starred in local TV shows with varying degrees of success. The girl had many roles, but mostly episodic – they did not allow her to lead a luxurious life and feel like a real celebrity. What will we talk about: before filming began on the Game of Thrones prequel, Millie earned a living washing dishes in a restaurant!

In 2018, shortly before finishing school, the girl had to stop studying in order to devote herself fully to her film career. Millie did not have time to study for the exams, as her work on the set of the film required an urgent departure for several months.

“I knew it would give me a more valuable experience than the paper I would receive after graduation. I didn’t doubt my decision for a second,” Alcock said in an interview.

After that, the girl had to earn a living in the kitchen of a restaurant and live in the attic of her mother’s house – and in her spare time attend numerous auditions and hope for a brighter future.

By the way, at the time of casting in The House of the Dragon, Alcock was desperate to become a real actress – and even missed the in-person audition, simply making a video business card for the producers. Who knew that in a moment of despair, all the risks in her life would come to fruition so powerfully!
