Wake up any Russian in the middle of the night and ask him to sing the lines from the song “White Roses”, he will do it without hesitation. There are things that literally leave their mark on the sub-crust.

Yuri Shatunov gave us a happy childhood, youth. Yes, and of course the adult years. The soloist of the Laskova May group left too soon: on June 23, Yuri died of a massive heart attack at the age of 48.

The artist will not, but his memory will live on. So the song “White Roses”, released in the late 80s, is still very popular. Do you know how this composition was created?

Sergey Kuznetsov was the head of the music club at a boarding school in Orenburg. He wrote songs and looked for talented guys who could take his work to the masses. That’s how the “Tender May” group, made up of orphans, appeared.

Sergei, looking at these talented boys, wrote the song “White Roses”, acting as the author of both words and music. A completely understandable allegory can be easily recognized in the lines: white roses are both orphans and all people who are left to their fate.

By the way, Sergei seems to have written a prophecy for himself. When Andrey Razin found out about the Laskova May group, all the fame and popularity went to him, and Kuznetsov was out of work.

The song “White Roses” became famous far beyond the borders of our country. For example, in Poland it was and remains a real hit. Still, a touching and captivating song with simple words and a melody just can’t be liked.
