The curse of “My Fair Nanny”: this tragedy connected the fate of the main actresses – Anastasia Zavorotnyuk and Fran Drescher

The comedy series “My Fair Nanny” was on Russian television from 2004 to 2009. Drescher sought help for two years, and finally the treatment helped – the tumor was removed, the actress went into a stable remission. Fran published an autobiographical book, the title of which can be translated as “Rak-shmak”: she tells in detail her story of fighting the disease. Now the 61-year-old actress supports the work of a foundation that helps women who are struggling with cancer. She was also elected president of the SAG-AFTRA union of actors and screenwriters – the very one that is now on strike demanding better working conditions and wages.

Alas, Anastasia Zavorotnyuk, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2019, continues to fight, 10 years after the finale of the show that made her famous. The actress has glioblastoma, a brain tumor. For several years, Zavorotnyuk did not appear in public: cancer completely changed the life of her family. Figure skater Pyotr Chernyshev, Zavorotnyuk’s husband, finds it increasingly difficult to ensure Anastasia’s treatment and life, but she does not give up. And fans believe that a miracle will happen and their favorite actress will overcome this terrible ordeal.
