In 2021, Tony released a joint album with Lady Gaga. It was during this period that he stopped hiding his diagnosis from the public. The artist was last seen on the streets of New York in April. Bennett moved around town in a wheelchair. Relatives of the artist explained that he played the piano until the last days of his life.

“Tony left us today, but the other day he was still singing at his piano and his last song was Why of You – his first #1 hit. Tony, thanks to you, your songs will stay in our hearts forever,” relatives said on his social media page.
Tony was born in 1926 in Long Island City, Queens. Bennett has released over 70 albums and won 19 Grammy Awards. The artist has collaborated with Frank Sinatra, Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse. In 2011, he topped the US Billboard 200, becoming the oldest singer to do so.
Bennett was married three times. He is survived by four children from his third marriage to Susan Benedetto and two sons and two daughters from previous relationships. It is noteworthy that the parents of the artist’s widow were his devoted fans. She and Tony met shortly before Susan was born. She also joined a musician fan club at the age of 19, reports the Daily Mail.
