The Olympic champion lived in the USA for 14 years. Tatyana noted that at that time our athletes led a closed lifestyle in the States. They trained every day and spent their free time in the evening with relatives and friends. Nevertheless, America made a very pleasant impression on the athlete. But since then, according to the skater, a lot has changed there for the worse.

“From a household perspective, I can say that when we came to the US in 1992, we were of course shocked by the cleanliness and prosperity of America, the number of supermarkets, the friendliness and goodwill of the Americans,” said Navka. – Compared to the empty shelves and gloomy faces in the collapsed USSR, it was incredible. But when my oldest daughter and I were last in New York six years ago, we were shocked by how the city and its energy had changed. There are a lot of vagrants and beggars in the air, aggressive moods in the air, fake smiles, dirty streets… After returning to Moscow, we both noticed an obvious contrast between the cities – how clean and beautiful the Russian capital is.”

The honored sports champion assured that she loves Moscow very much. Tatána calls it one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The 48-year-old figure skater enthusiastically enjoys her summer walks, watches the changes and is proud of how the capital is developing.

“By the way, having been on tour in Sochi for the last three years, I am also happy how the city is changing, how it is growing and developing, how many people are coming here from all over Russia, to the capital of our resort. From June 20 to September 30, a new ice musical can be seen in Sochi. Taťána said that the show “Sleeping Beauty. The Legend of Two Kingdoms” is an original story created especially for the NAVKA SHOW.

“Our screenwriters combined the plots of Charles Perrault’s legendary fairy tale and Robert Stromberg’s Maleficent to finally create something completely unique,” explained the skater. – In the summer tour season in Sochi, we are gathering a star team of Olympic champions – Alina Zagitova, Anna Shcherbakova, Kamila Vallieva, Victoria Sinitsina, Nikita Katsalapov, Tatyana Volosozhar, Dmitry Solovyov. In addition, another pair of young stars joined our team – current champions of Russia, multiple winners of the ME Alexandra Štěpánová and Ivan Bukin. And, of course, the permanent artists of our team, an amazing couple that the audience adores – multiple champions of Lithuania, winners of the World and European Championships Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas.

Navca’s partner, with whom she won the Olympics in 2006, is now in the capital’s hospital. After preparations for prosthetics, Roman Kostomarov will undergo rehabilitation, which should begin in two weeks.

“The novel is very powerful. I know for sure that everything will be fine. He is actively undergoing rehabilitation, there is a positive trend. His family, all of us – his comrades, friends and colleagues – are nearby. And he is supported by millions of people from all over the country. He knows it and that gives him strength,” Taťána said in an interview for AiF.
