Three Bugatti World Record Editions
Well, there won’t be anyone who owns that many Bugatti – maybe except the Sultan of Brunei – but a loyal Bugatti customer has at least all the world-record editions of the Veyron and Chiron. Bugatti brought them to the headquarters in Molsheim.
The cars apparently belong to the Singh Collection, the car collection of a wealthy Indian businessman. Not only did he bring his World Record Editions to France, but also his Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang and Divo.
Veyron Super Sport World Record Edition
The Veyron 16.4 Super Sport World Record Edition is the oldest of the bunch. In 2010, the vehicle reached a speed of 431 km/h on the Volkswagen Group’s Ehra-Lessien test track. His W16 with four turbochargers delivers 1200 hp.
Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse WRC Edition
Three years later, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition was the fastest convertible in the world at 408 km/h with the roof open.
Chiron Super Sport 300+ drives 490 km/h
The latest World Record Edition is the Chiron Super Sport 300+. It’s theoretically capable of 300 mph (482.80 km/h), but the production version has a limiter.
With the electronic schoolmaster switched off, driver Andy Wallace reached an exceptionally high speed of just over 490 km/h in 2019.
It was the Indian owner’s dream to bring all three cars together in Molsheim. There they were signed by design chief Achim Anscheidt and by drivers Andy Wallace and Pierre-Henri Raphanel.
