The Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate Volante warms the earth once more
With a fuel consumption of 1 to 7.4 and CO2 emissions of 306 g/km, the Aston Martin DBS Volante is on the road with a greenhouse effect. A stylish greenhouse effect, namely with a glorious V12 that can roar again. In the limited edition DBS 770 Ultimate.
Aston Martin announced the coupe-style DBS 770 Ultimate in early January. As expected, there will also be a convertible version. A Volante, as Aston Martin so beautifully calls it. Then it’s over with the DBS and its powerful twelve-cylinder.
Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate with Zagato engine
The DBS 770 Ultimate has the same 5.9-liter twin-turbo V12 as the DBS, but with 45 more horsepower. Sound familiar? That may be true, because the 770 hp and 900 Nm strong twelve-cylinder comes from the previously built DBS Zagato.
Aston Martin doesn’t talk about performance, so let’s fill it in ourselves. The “normal” DBS Volante accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds (the coupe is 0.2 seconds faster) and has a top speed of 340 km/h (like the coupe).
Alloy wheels from the unique Aston Martin Victor
The Ultimate is easily distinguished from the DBS. It has a hood full of hefty cooling vents, extra ribs in the air vents to the left and right of the nose, a slightly tighter rear diffuser and nice 21-inch wheels.
The design of these bikes comes from the one-of-a-kind Victor built by Aston Martin’s Q department on behalf of a customer. The car is subcutaneously a cross between a One-77 and a Vulcan.
Total edition only 499 copies
Coming back to the DBS 770 Ultimate. It comes standard with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, carbon-ceramic brake discs and a limited-slip differential. What it costs is not known, but definitely more than 400,000 euros.
Three hundred copies of the closed Ultimate are made. The Aston Martin factory makes just 199 buyers happy with the Volante.
How would you configure the DBS 770 Ultimate?
Well, we can’t afford the limited-edition sports car, and probably you can’t either, but the configurator Aston Martin has on their website keeps us busy for another half hour.
