It was a bit doubtful whether Xpeng would come to the Netherlands or not, but the answer was yes. The brand is expanding its options and debuting two models for the upper middle class: a sedan and an SUV. This sedan is the Xpeng P7, which we recently took a closer look at. This time the focus is on the SUV, the Xpeng G9.
The Xpeng G9
What kind of meat do we have in the tub? The Xpeng G9 is an SUV that is 4.90 meters long, just over 1.90 meters wide and around 1.70 meters high and positioned in the upper middle class. The G9 is always powered fully electrically, with a standard 78 kWh battery pack on board. A 98 kWh battery pack is available as an option. Depending on the model and version, this is enough for ranges of 460 to 570 km (WLTP). Charging is standard with 270 kW and optionally with 300 kW.
Technical specifications
The Xpeng G9 comes standard with a 230 kW (313 hp) and 430 Nm electric motor that drives the rear wheels. If that’s not enough, an electric motor is added to the front axle. Added to this is the all-wheel drive with a system output of a whopping 405 kW (551 hp) and a system torque of 717 Nm. Need all that extra power? NO.
