Occasions: Three spacious electric cars with a maximum tip of €22,500
- Hyundai IONIQ electric (2016 – present)
- Nissan Leaf (2018 – present)
- Volkswagen e-Golf (2014 – 2020)
- Our choice
Hyundai IONIQ electric (2016 – present)
Thanks to its aerodynamic design, the electric IONIQ has a pleasantly low power consumption. The pre-facelift model drives an average of 200 kilometers on one charge of electricity, the updated version 100 kilometers further. The trunk volume is no less than 462 liters. A Comfort version (2017, 112,000 km) is for sale at a well-known branch of a large leasing company in Breukelen for €22,131.
Verdict of the Wayward Watch on the occasion
It happens that the IONIQ does not want to charge. Deposits on the charging socket can be to blame. The Waywatch removes these carefully. We don’t know of any other problems of this kind!
Nissan Leaf (2018 – present)
The Leaf is spacious and comfortable, with remarkably good front seats. With a capacity of 400 liters, the trunk is not small. However, the power consumption is disappointing. With a 40 kWh battery pack you can only travel about 200 kilometers. In addition, the loading speed lags behind the competition. At a Vakgarage in Breda we come across a light green “Zero Edition” (2018, 65,000 km) for €22,495.
Verdict of the Wayward Watch on the occasion
Nissan has the necessary experience with electric cars and this is clearly noticeable in this model generation of the Leaf. The brand stands for a very high level of quality. The Waywatcher are therefore not aware of any problems that occur more frequently with this model.
Volkswagen e-Golf (2014 – 2020)
For years, the electric Golf has been one of the best-selling electric vehicles in our country. The weight is slightly higher, so the chassis had to be adjusted. So it’s a bit more solid. The luggage compartment is identical to other versions at 380 liters. The range is over 200 kilometers. A car dealership in Utrecht offers a dark gray e-Golf (2017, 84,000 km) for €22,240.
Verdict of the Wayward Watch on the occasion
With the electric Golf, roadside assistance sometimes has to step in because the charging plug won’t come loose. The yellow heroes know a trick that you can use to hit the streets.
Our tips for the occasions
Pay attention to the price of a used electric car. Regularly advertised with an amount excluding VAT! Deducting the government subsidy from the asking price is also a trick. Of those three, we’d pick the stubborn Hyundai.
