housing shortage? This Skoda Enyaq iV camper is the solution!
The housing shortage in the Netherlands is a big problem, which is why some Dutch people have chosen to live in a mobile home. In addition, Skoda is now showing an Enyaq iV motorhome digital nomads.
The camper was not developed entirely by Skoda itself. The manufacturers worked on this concept together with 29 students. Or is it an April Fool’s joke?
Skoda Enyaq iV motorhome
The camper Skoda Enyaq iV is just an idea for now. Still, it’s nice to see what an electric SUV-based camper will look like.
The Skoda Enyaq iV motorhome has an extended and raised roof that creates more interior space. This is necessary because the SUV needs to be inhabited. After all, the camper must serve as an office, sleeping space and living space.
In the concept model you will find a bed with a cupboard underneath. There is a screen opposite the bed. Compartments for additional storage space are located above the normal trolley. Although the students emphasize that it is also a mobile office, Skoda does not show how the space can be converted into a mobile office. That room isn’t really there either. The Skoda Enyaq iV is perhaps not so well suited as a mobile home.
ID.Buzz might be a better choice
Anyone who wants a motorhome on Volkswagen’s MEB platform is better off going for the ID.Buzz. This car is much more spacious and will eventually be launched as a camper version. This would be made in the style of the California model. However, you first have to convert the ID.Buzz into a camper yourself. The camper van is not expected to hit the market until 2025.
If you already want to camp with an electric vehicle, you can also opt for a roof tent. This is a lot cheaper (if you already have an electric vehicle) but less comfortable than a camper van. Autovisie selects 4 electric cars that are perfect for a rooftop tent.
