Dive into the price list: the Xpeng P7, the “new” Tesla competitor
Well, no, well yes: Xpeng is coming to the Netherlands after all. Not with the P5, but with the Xpeng P7, among others. With a look at the price list we get to know the model better.
Xpeng announced relatively early on that it would expand to the European and Dutch markets. These include the P5, a relatively compact sedan. In the end it was never delivered and it was even questionable whether Xpeng would even come to the Netherlands. Yes, but not anymore with the P5. They will try it a class higher with the Xpeng P7 and G9, a sedan and an SUV for the upper middle class.
Xpeng P7, Tesla’s (on)new competitor
The Xpeng P7 was first launched in its home country in 2020. Xpeng sees the car itself primarily as a direct competitor to the (slightly smaller) Tesla Model 3. In any case, Xpeng also relies heavily on modern technologies for automated driving functions and connectivity. In this respect, Xpeng has enough in common with NIO, another newcomer in the Netherlands. In practice, Xpeng and NIO could therefore be competitors for each other and not so much for Tesla. We will see.
Specifications Xpeng P7
In terms of drive, there are two versions of the Xpeng P7: the Long Range and the Performance. Of course, the Long Range offers the greatest range at 576 km (WLTP). There are also 203 kW (276 hp), 400 Nm and rear-wheel drive. The 100 km/h is reached in 6.7 seconds. The Performance still has an electric motor and thus all-wheel drive and a system output of 348 kW (473 hp) and no less than 757 Nm of torque. Good for a 0-100 sprint in 4.1 seconds. The range is still decent at 505 km (WLTP).
Prices
The Xpeng P7 is available from 51,188 euros for the long range. At least 61,188 euros were lost for the performance. The special edition Wing, more on that later, costs 71,188 euros.
Versions and equipment Xpeng P7
Standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels with an aerodynamic design, power tailgate, front and rear seat heating, cabin air filtration, an Advanced Surround Sound System, a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, a rich 14.96-inch touchscreen for operating the extensive infotainment and advanced assistance and safety systems. The Performance has 19-inch alloy wheels with a sportier design, but is otherwise similarly equipped.
Xpeng P7 Wing Edition
A special version is the Wing Edition. It’s primarily distinguished by a model-specific light green body color (with dark green as an option) and gullwing doors that wouldn’t look out of place on a Lamborghini. Yes, really. It’s also more comprehensively equipped, including soft-close doors and the Premium Seat & Audio Pack with more luxurious seats, upholstery and an extra high-quality audio system. The Seat & Audio Pack is optionally available for the other equipment lines for 3,990 euros.
Exterior decoration Xpeng P7
We opt for the performance variant. We’re also reviewing the Seat & Audio Pack. Then we come to the body colors. You can choose from white, two shades of grey, black and dark green. The latter color costs 1,200 euros extra, the other body colors have an extra charge of 900 euros. We opt for the lighter gray tone. There is no wheel choice, so it depends on the trim level you choose.
Interior decoration Xpeng P7
The interior is equipped as standard with light gray nappa leather in combination with dark gray interior parts. Optionally, without extra charge, you can opt for bright red seats and black interior parts with red decorative stitching. Another no-cost option is an all-black interior, with red topstitching adding some color. We opt for the standard light gray interior.
Assemble yourself
There are no separate options, so we come to the end of the configurator. The Xpeng P7 we put together now costs 66,078 euros. Not a bargain, but definitely an interesting price compared to the competitor Tesla. Interested? The configurator, prices, features and more information can be found at www.heyxpeng.com/nl.
