What is certain is that used cars have become more and more expensive in recent years. The average asking price rose sharply. But which occasion has the price increased the fastest?

The car sales site AutoScout24 examined the (rising) prices of used cars. A brand stands head and shoulders above it.

(Audi) opportunities have become so much more expensive

The four rings from Audi are on the nose for the opportunities that have become extremely expensive. A used Audi A3 cost an average of 20,190 euros in 2021. The average price in 2022 was 24,909 euros, an increase of 23 percent! Not only has the A3 become a significantly more expensive used car, you can also pay 23 percent more for the Audi A4. The average price rose from 21,946 to 26,962 euros.

Although most used cars are becoming more expensive, Audi is showing a very extreme increase compared to other popular models. After all, the price of the Volkswagen Golf “only” rose by 9 percent and the Polo by only 2 percent. The Opel Corsa also became significantly more expensive, with a price increase of 13 percent. These models tend to be the exception to the rule. According to the study, the average Dutch second-hand price rose by 20 percent in 12 months.

Although Audi has become significantly more expensive, the used cars are still popular. After the Golf, Polo and Corsa, the Audi A3 is the fourth most popular used car. The Renault Clio completes the top 5.
