Dacia announces a completely new model: here it comes
Dacia put us in a good mood more than two years ago with a new, robust SUV. We now know when it’s coming, but we’ll have to wait a while.
Today Dacia offers more information about the future in its production facilities and the arrival of its new model. It’s a C-segment car, a segment Dacia has been wanting to enter for some time. He recently did that with the Jogger, but an SUV will be added.
Longer than the Duster
This is the production version of the Dacia Bigster. The Romanians already showed this car in 2021 and today the manufacturer reports that it will produce the car in 2025. The Bigster is a 4.6 meter long SUV that sits on the CMF-B base. This makes it around 30 centimeters longer than the Duster. The Bigster will soon be available with a choice of powertrains, including hybrid, and all-wheel drive.
We’re calling it the Bigster now, by the way, but chances are the final model won’t be called that. Dacia already hinted in 2021 that it would look for a different name for the new SUV. It can choose a name that has a connection to nature and freedom. However, it is not yet clear what became of it. Maybe it’s still looking. After all, there is still time.
From Romania to Morocco
The Dacia Bigster will soon be produced in its home country of Romania. The Jogger is now also produced there, but the car manufacturer will soon also be assembling this model in its Moroccan plant in Tangier. The popular Sandero (and the jogger’s technical brother) also sees the light of day there. The partial relocation of Jogger production is intended to create space for the “Bigster”. The production of the Duster, Logan and Sandero Stepway still takes place in Romania.
