The Netherlands is known as an expensive country, especially after inflation. However, not everything is expensive in our country. Electric car owners are the cheapest across Europe to charge their electric vehicle.

Switcher.ie has researched the cheapest and most expensive countries to charge an electric car. Although petrol and diesel are expensive in the Netherlands, charging your electric vehicle is cheap.

The Netherlands is cheap for electric car owners

On average, owners of an electric car in the Netherlands pay 2.74 euros per charge. This makes the Netherlands the cheapest country in Europe. The average cost per 100 kilometers in the Netherlands is only 80 cents. Other cheap countries to charge your electric vehicle are: Kosovo, Georgia, Serbia and Turkey.

The most expensive country in Europe to charge your electricity is Denmark. On average, you pay 27.65 euros per charge. The average cost of charging your electric car is 11.17 euros.

Electricity much cheaper than petrol or diesel

“With fuel prices peaking, it’s no surprise that electric car sales continue to explode – being over 70 per cent cheaper to run than diesel or petrol vehicles, they can save you a significant amount on fuel costs,” said Eoin Clarke Commercial Director Switcher.ie . In addition, as a buyer of an electric car you also receive a subsidy, you pay no BPM and the cars are exempt from road tax.
