More than 100 million people watch anti-Tesla ads during the Super Bowl
Tesla was shot down in front of more than 100 million people during the Super Bowl last night. A company called The Dawn Project aired an anti-Tesla commercial.
The Super Bowl is the largest American championship in American football. It is one of the most watched television events in the world with millions of viewers around the world. In the United States alone, television viewership is generally around 100 million.
$7 million for anti-Tesla Super Bowl ad
Running a commercial during the Super Bowl is extremely expensive. Software company The Dawn Project thought it was worth $7 million to run its anti-Tesla ads. Anti-Tesla advertising is perhaps a bit of an exaggeration. The goal is to ban full self-driving (FSD). In the ad, the company states that the FSD cannot relieve the driver of the task of driving. The Dawn Project therefore believes that the NHTSA (the American NCAP) should ban the feature.
It is now clear that Tesla Full Self Driving cannot really completely take over the driving task of a driver. Many accidents have already happened with the software and practical tests also show that it works well as a driving aid, but you always have to be careful yourself. However, half of consumers think a Tesla is a self-driving car.
Full Self Driving is not independent
The anti-full self-driving ads are therefore intended to put an end to the name and claims the manufacturer is making about the software. However, the campaign has also received a lot of criticism. For example, Tesla says the system is not activated in the videos. The fact remains: Don’t rely completely on your driver assistance just yet. Even if Elon Musk calls it “Full Self Driving”.
