ViaPlay is getting more expensive: This is how you stream Formula 1 cheaper or for free

ViaPlay has thrown up prices for a subscription in 2023. The ANP announces this. But rest assured, there are cheaper and even free ways to stream Formula 1.

After another Dutchman joined Max Verstappen in Nyck de Vries, there will be even greater demand for streaming options in the 2023 Formula 1 season. So prices go up, that’s called market forces.

ViaPlay will increase the rate in 2023

The streaming service ViaPlay has owned the broadcasting rights of Formula 1 since last season. A subscription currently costs 13.99 euros per month, from March 1, 2023 it will be 15.99 euros. KPN customers who purchase a subscription before March 1st will continue to pay the monthly price of €13.99 until July 1st. According to RTL News, Ziggo will settle the increase from March 1st.

ViaPlay also offers the option of a cheaper monthly fee if you pay for a full annual subscription at once. This monthly amount is currently €10.49 per month, but will increase to €12.79 per month in 2023.

Cheap ways to stream Formula 1

So everything gets more expensive, but it can be cheaper and even free, especially if you’re looking for loopholes in the law.

VPN

If you have a VPN, you can watch websites from the countries where Formula 1 is broadcast over the air for free. An average VPN costs around 10.18 per month with a monthly subscription. However, prices drop sharply for annual subscriptions. The average cost of most VPNs is around $3 to $5 per month for a two-year subscription. The following websites are broadcasting F1 live.

  • Channel 4 (UK)
  • Servus TV (Austria)
  • GloboPlay (Brazil)
  • RTL Lu (Luxembourg)

F1 TV Pro

In addition to ViaPlay, F1 TV Pro also pays for the broadcasting rights of Formula 1 in 2023. This is cheaper than the Swedish streaming service and you also have more camera options. You pay 7.99 per month and 65 euros if you pay in advance for a whole year.

Stream for free

Then there are plenty of free stream options for people who really can’t afford to be without the money, and there are quite a few of those in 2023. You’ll have to settle for slightly less sharp images and annoying ads. Watch here the best free F1 streams that we will update again for the 2023 Formula 1 season.

In defense of ViaPlay and the more expensive subscription, you’ll find more than Formula 1 there, as these wonderful movies attest.
