Volkswagen says goodbye to the Up!
Volkswagen ceases production of the Volkswagen Up! The small city runabout can still be ordered, but you can no longer put it together yourself.
The visually and technically almost identical Skoda Citigo and Seat Mii can no longer be ordered in the Netherlands. After 12 years, Volkswagen is also taking part in the Up!
Volkswagen Up! almost end of story
The Volkswagen Up! It was launched in 2011 and became a popular car along with the Skoda Citigo and the Seat Mii. Almost 95,000 copies were sold in the Netherlands. The best year for the A-Segmenter was 2013, when more than 16,208 Upjes were sold.
The Volkswagen Up! comes with a petrol engine with only three cylinders of 1.0 liter displacement. You will find the strongest powertrain in the GTI. This delivers up to 115 hp.
In addition to petrol and CNG versions, the Up! also buy as an electric car. In 2023 the e-Up! with an output of 80 hp, 210 Nm of torque and a range of 160 kilometers. The first electric versions had a battery pack of 18.7 kWh, of which 16.8 kWh can be used. Later, in 2019, the e-Up! by Volkswagen gehighDate. The battery pack has a capacity of 36.8 kWh, of which 32.3 kWh can be used. This allows you to drive 258 kilometers according to WLTP.
Although the Up! no longer rolls off the production line, the small-town rascal won’t be disappearing from our streets anytime soon. It will also remain an attractive event in the years to come.
Boot up the VW! GTI
