Dive into the price list: the Hyundai IONIQ 6, the cheapest of the brand

Many have been looking forward to this: the arrival of the Hyundai IONIQ 6. Now that the model is available to order, let’s dive into the price list. what does the car have

Would you like to drive electrically, but don’t feel like the umpteenth SUV or Tesla and the Porsche Taycan is beyond your budget? Then the Koreans now have an interesting offer for you: the Hyundai IONIQ 6. The “four-door coupé” (it’s actually a sedan) is even referred to by some as a mini Taycan. That might be going a bit far, but it is certainly an interesting and attractive offer.

Specifications Hyundai IONIQ 6

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 has an output of 111 kW (151 hp) and a torque of 350 Nm as standard. The horsepower in particular isn’t impressive for an electric vehicle, but let’s face it, for the Netherlands that’s really enough. An acceleration time to 100 km/h of 8.8 seconds is just decent. The 53 kWh battery pack also keeps the weight within limits (1,775 kg license plate weight) and is already good for a range of 429 km (WLTP).

If you want more, that is of course also possible. There’s also a 77.4 kWh battery pack with a choice of one or two electric motors. With the latter choice you also have all-wheel drive, otherwise only the rear wheels are driven. In the rear-wheel drive version with a larger battery, you have 168 kW (229 hp) and still 350 Nm at your disposal. The all-wheel drive version has a system output of 239 kW (325 hp) and a system torque of 605 Nm. Then you can reach 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds. The single-engine version is right between the top model and the entry-level model. The maximum speed is 185 km/h regardless of the version.

The larger battery in combination with an electric motor also ensures the longest range: a good 614 km (WLTP). The all-wheel drive version does not need to hide with 583 km (WLTP). However, the optionally larger wheel size costs a lot in terms of range. Then both versions are only 545 and 519 km away. Also good, but something to think about.

Prices Hyundai IONIQ 6

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 is also interesting in terms of price. The price is at least 45,895 euros. It might not be a bargain, but it’s the cheapest electric Hyundai. The IONIQ 5 and even the Kona have a higher entry-level price of $48,295 and $47,795, respectively. Connect (50,395 euros) and Lounge (58,895 euros) are also above the “normal” style version.

Equipment Hyundai IONIQ 6

“Starter model” style actually leaves nothing to be desired. Some highlights: 18-inch alloy wheels, heated exterior mirrors, automatic tailgate, automatic climate control, acoustic windscreen, adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, cloth upholstery (leather steering wheel), a 12.3-inch touchscreen for infotainment (with Apple CarPlay, Android car, Bluetooth and voice recognition) and a series of safety and assistance systems that are intended to enable the car to drive almost independently on the freeway. Take care in the meantime, shall you?

As the name suggests, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 as Connect is primarily equipped with more technology. Think heat pump and temperature control for the battery, heat-resistant windows, head-up display, heated seats and steering wheel, power driver’s seat and even more safety systems. It might also make sense: the battery will have V2L technology and can therefore also be used as an energy source for external devices.

The top model Lounge complements this with even more luxury and decoration. Among them: the larger battery, 20-inch alloy wheels (18 inches still possible), leather interior, both front seats electrically adjustable (for drivers with memory), front seats with “Relax” function, a Bose premium audio system and a remote control. controlled “intelligent parking aid”. You also need the lounge for the optional panoramic roof and digital exterior mirrors.

Our configuration

We keep it humble and go for the style, but go for the bigger battery. In the case of the Style, this can only be combined with an electric motor, but as already mentioned, it already offers excellent specifications. The heat pump is standard on the Connect, but can be ordered as an option on the other models. Costs 1,495 euros extra, but we want that.

Exterior trim Hyundai IONIQ 6

On to the exterior decoration. Nice: The bright blue color you saw in the previous photos is the standard color of the Hyundai IONIQ 6. This is how Hyundai brings some color to the gray fleet. If you prefer gray, you have to pay an additional 895 euros and also have the choice between light gray or dark gray. Dark red has the same premium, as do pearlescent black, very dark blue (almost black) and some shades of gray. After all, there is a choice between matte dark gray or matte light gray for a surcharge of 1,095 euros. Still a fairly dark and gray color palette. We choose dark red.

interior design

The style offers no more exterior options than body colour, so let’s move on to the interior. However, we are done quickly, because the Hyundai IONIQ 6 is only available as a style with the black fabric upholstery. Higher trim levels offer a choice of gray leather upholstery in addition to black leather.

Build your own Hyundai IONIQ 6

There are no separate options and that brings us to the end of the configuration process. The assembled Hyundai IONIQ 6 now costs 53,285 euros. Can you already imagine driving the car? Would you have chosen the same versions or a completely different one? Simply put it together according to your own wishes at www.hyundai.com/nl. There you will also find the complete price and equipment overview.
