The new Lamborghini Aventador is a little…er…boring
We’re stuck behind our laptop in our raincoats because we’re expecting a whole load of tar and feathers. Because you don’t call an Italian fighting bull boring. That’s it! And of course the new Lamborghini Aventador doesn’t put you to sleep. But the look is very evolutionary.
The Lamborghini Aventador has had a long life. It stayed on the market for eleven years. Its successor is in the starting blocks, still with a V12 suction engine. What’s new is that the block will get hybrid support.
Lamborghini Aventador successor with over 800 hp
The performance of the new drive train is said to be well over 800 hp. The last version of the Aventador, the Ultimae, had 780 hp. The very first variant of the Aventador, the LP 700-4, had “only” 700 hp.
Lamborghini has to resort to hybrid technology because otherwise its turbo-free V12 will no longer meet the emissions regulations. Many manufacturers say goodbye to large engines such as eight, ten or twelve cylinders, for Lamborghini it remains a unique selling point.
The name of the new Aventador is not yet known
We have seen the successor to the Aventador drive heavily camouflaged several times. The name of the model is not yet known, but it will definitely not be an Aventador.
Raised exhaust and angular lines and triangles
As we have already seen from the spy photos, the new Italian supercar gets a raised exhaust. One that sits just above the license plate holder.
On these patent drawings we can see the appearance of the Aventador successor much more clearly. And that comes as no surprise. Lamborghini remains true to its angular design language with many sharp lines and triangles.
Lamborghini Centenario and Sián elements
There are clear elements from the Centenario and Sián, like the huge diffuser at the rear and the light units at the front. A large active rear spoiler is located above the two hexagonal tailpipes.
The accompanying drawings come from the World Intellectual Property Organization database, so this is the final design of Lamborghini’s upcoming hypercar, which shares many similarities with the Aventador.
