Suzuki shows all-electric SUV: the eVX

Suzuki shows a new concept model called eVX. The electric crossover SUV will be presented at the India Auto Expo in Delhi.

The eVX is the Japanese brand’s first all-electric concept SUV. The study model is a harbinger of the future of the brand, says Geordy Bloem, Managing Director of Suzuki Netherlands.

With the eVX, Suzuki says it’s sticking to the brand’s 4×4 DNA. Exactly what that means remains to be seen. Suzuki doesn’t publish much about the electric car yet.

We know the exterior dimensions of the SUV. With a length of 4.3 meters, a width of 1.8 meters and a height of 1.6 meters, the eVX is slightly smaller than the Volkswagen ID.4 and Across or RAV4.

The design is typically Suzuki, but features a few different design cues than we’re used to from the brand. For example, the nose is completely flat and at the rear you will find a large continuous light bar.

400 kilometers with one battery?

According to the manufacturer, the eVX has a 60 kWh battery pack with which you can drive around 400 kilometers according to the WLTC cycle. We don’t yet know how much that is according to the WLTP that is common in Europe. The eVX can allegedly be bought with at least two electric motors, one on the front and one on the rear axle – provided the car actually goes into series production.

Suzuki calls the 4×4 DNA and of course refers to the great off-roaders they built and are still building. Some time ago, Autovisie had the Jimny in the garage for six months as an endurance tester.
