That costs the maintenance of a Bugatti Chiron
Many car fans dream of a Bugatti Chiron or other hypercar. However, due to the extreme price of such a car, it is accessible to only a few people. It’s not just expensive to buy, it’s also expensive to maintain. In this article we discuss what it costs to maintain a Bugatti Chiron if you have owned the car for 10 years.
Autovisie itself didn’t have a Bugatti as an endurance test, but we look at the prices Bugatti charges for standard maintenance. So more and more parts can break.
That costs the maintenance of a Bugatti Chiron
Although in many ways a Bugatti Chiron is nothing like your Volkswagen Polo, even the hypercar needs regular maintenance. The Chiron, which costs 3.2 million euros (excl. taxes), needs new fluids such as engine oil and brake fluid every 14 months or 16,000 kilometers. Costs? 23,339 euros.
One part that you will need to replace on the Bugatti Chiron and not your car – if all goes well – are the rims. For safety reasons, the carbon rims have to be replaced every fourteen to sixteen months or every 16,000 kilometers, i.e. at the same time as the maintenance. Replacing the wheels without tires costs a little over 46 grand. If you want additional tires, you have to pay an extra 39,000 euros. At least if you opt for the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires. You can also choose cheaper tires. The reserve price is 7,432 – that’s relatively not bad.
Tires are not that special, you need to replace them with your car as well. Uniquely, Bugatti also views the Chiron’s turbos and fuel tank as wearing parts.
A ton per year
If you add it all up, in four years you come to around 407,577 euros, excluding taxes, labor costs, transport and travel costs. This includes three oil changes, two rim/tire changes, four new turbos, a new fuel tank and a set of brakes.
The prices in this article have not been confirmed by Bugatti.
