Tesla Cybertruck unnecessary: This is the Pickup Model S
Although Elon Musk is busy with the Tesla Cybertruck, the model is not yet on public roads. A Tesla Model S owner took matters into his own hands and converted the electric vehicle into a pickup truck.
The Tesla Cybertruck was introduced in 2019 and production is scheduled to start in late 2021. Now that this deadline has been clearly exceeded, the brand states that the electric pick-up should actually go into series production at the end of 2023.
Tesla Cybertruck can no longer be ordered in the Netherlands
Until then, there will be no Tesla Cybertruck. And when it’s in production, the question is how soon can you get the pickup. After all, the design can no longer be ordered in the Netherlands due to too many registrations.
Tesla Model S Pickup
Then build your own Tesla pickup. However, that was not quite the case with this “Teslamino”. The Tesla Cybertruck was presented in November 2019, and tuners started building the Model S pickup as early as April of the same year. This year, after a lot of welding and modifications, the car turned into a really usable pickup.
The Tesla Model S used to drive with the roof cut open, but now it’s completely finished. The car has only two doors, a glass rear window and an opening tailgate. In addition, the Tesla pick-up has received a front apron from the facelift model.
Originally, the Tesla Model S 85 is a pre-facelift model. The drive train consists of a 367 hp and 441 Nm strong electric motor, which only sends its power to the rear wheels.
Collection not yet completed
Although the car is now a viable Tesla pickup, the builders say it still needs some tinkering. The movable tailgate now provides an ugly conclusion at the rear. In progress..
