Formula E is launching a very strange electric vehicle

Formula E is known for having extremely fast cars that rival Formula 1. But this electric vehicle from e-sports is very different.

When you think of Formula E, you probably think of the wondrous roar of electric motors hurtling across a racetrack at lightning speed. So chances are slim that this new vehicle that introduces the sport crosses your mind; it is an electric scooter.

The Formula E electric scooter is a special beast

As befits Formula E, this is not an easy step. The GZ1, as it’s called, is more complex than you might expect.

This vehicle has a gyroscope. This technology ensures that it absorbs shock better, regulates speed and provides greater stability. In addition, it has 9-inch tires that can withstand a lot of impact.

Smart power mode

The company Zinc Sports, which manufactured the scooter in cooperation with Formula E, also states that the electric scooter is smart. It drives 24 kilometers per hour anyway and has a range of 20 kilometers.

In addition, this fast scooter has a so-called Smart Energy Recovery System in the battery. This system charges the battery slightly when you brake or roll down a hill.

The lights on the scooter are also smart. For example, if you turn left or right more than 15 degrees, the turn signals will turn on automatically. The headlights and taillights also turn on when the sensors on the scooter detect that the sun has set. You can also easily take the scooter with you in the car or on the train. It weighs only 14.7 kilos and has foldable handlebars.

Formula E electric scooters banned in the Netherlands

How much does this little electric Formula E device cost? Only about 460 euros. Does it help you in the Netherlands? Not really, because unfortunately they are forbidden to go out on the streets here.
